When the School meets someone who changed the world

There are encounters that invite us to pause, to listen and to reflect. Encounters that stay with us.

“A Conversation with Federico Faggin,” taking place on Friday the 27th at 3:00 PM in the Big Hall at the H-FARM campus, is one of those occasions.

Speaking about Federico Faggin means speaking about one of the minds who helped shape the world we live in today. A physicist, inventor and entrepreneur: he is widely recognized as the father of the microprocessor—the innovation that made personal computers, smartphones, and artificial intelligence possible. In other words, the digital revolution.

What makes this meeting even more meaningful, however, is the human and intellectual journey Faggin has undertaken in recent years. After helping transform technology, he began questioning its deeper meaning: What is intelligence, truly? What is the relationship between mind, consciousness, and machine? What responsibility do innovators carry?

Education today means preparing young people not only to use technology, but to understand it, to guide it, and to question it critically. Innovation gains meaning when it serves the human person, rather than becoming an end in itself.

Federico Faggin’s experience and thinking invite us to do exactly that: never to separate technological progress from human growth. To remember that behind every great invention there is a vision—and behind every vision, a responsibility.

The event will be held in Italian, with English subtitles available. Please book your seat here.
