Dear Parents,
It was a profound pleasure to meet the Class Representatives and the PTA members last Thursday. As I shared during our session, the strength of a premier educational institution lies in the transparency of its vision and the depth of the partnership it forges with its families.
As discussed I am acutely aware of the discussions regarding academic consistency and rigour and wanted to be clear: elevating academic success is our primary catalyst for growth. We are not merely maintaining standards; we are evolving them through the Continuous Improvement Management Process. This is our data-driven “compass for success,” allowing our school, program and department heads to utilize empirical insights to create precise, individualised action plans for every year group and every student.
The intent of our meeting was to “open the hood of the car,” allowing you to see the intricate synchronisation of our systems and the robust power of the H-FARM International School engine. I want to reiterate that the initiatives we discussed are not merely aspirations or blueprints for a distant future; they are active deployments, strategic actions we have been engineering and working for months that are now firmly in their implementation phase.
I would like to detail the concrete pillars of our current expansion:
- Investing in Intellectual Capital: Our Faculty
A school is only as strong as its teachers. Parallel to our physical investment, we are executing a robust Talent Development & Reward program. We are maintaining a premium Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR) and actively recruiting 20 new high-calibre hires for the AY26/27 term joining the actual 160 staff members already dedicated here on the Venice Campus to the education of our children.
Our staff are supported as elite professionals through:
- Rigorous Professional Development: We are currently deploying nine major pedagogical initiatives. Our faculty are participating in prestigious global programmes, including the MIT collaboration, specialized Leadership Workshops, and the upcoming NAE Academic Conference in Brighton.
- Institutional Stability: By investing on welfare, salary progression plans while adding new on-campus medical and wellness services, we ensure that our teachers can focus entirely on your children’s growth.
- Expanding the Academic Frontier
We are significantly increasing our physical and intellectual capacity for learning to match our projected growth. This is not just about space, but about the quality of the environment:
- DP & MYP Expansion: We are adding two new classrooms and a dedicated teacher workspace in the Diploma Programme. In the MYP, we are introducing three new working spaces and private study booths designed specifically to facilitate the transition from collaborative projects to the focused, independent study required for academic mastery.
- The Innovation Labs: We are moving into Phase 1 of “Quantum Force”, our new Robotics IoT and AI Lab. These are world-class spaces where our students will transform theoretical innovation into tangible human progress.
- Infrastructure, Safety, and Wellbeing: The “Third Teacher”
In our philosophy, the environment itself acts as a teacher. We are investing heavily in the spaces where our students live and play:
- Early Years & Boarding: We are finalizing a new PYP playground for 80 children and a major expansion of our Boarding Village, featuring 25 additional units and four new communal spaces to enhance our residential community.
- Campus Standards & Security: We are further investing in ergonomic upgrades and a new self-service area in the MYP canteen, safety remains paramount. We have reinforced our campus security with 71 additional CCTV cameras and high-tech sensors to ensure total peace of mind for our families.
- Precision through “Know Your Student”
Central to our evolution is the “Know Your Student” mandate. We are not as many other schools offering a “one-size-fits-all” education but on the contrary continuously advancing a sophisticated, tiered approach to personalised learning.
This is best exemplified by H-Elevate, our newly launched program for DP students focused on the talented and gifted. This complements our existing frameworks for students with special educational needs, ensuring that whether a student requires extra support or extra challenge, their journey is bespoke.
- Pedagogical Rigour and Consistency
As Professor Cori, our Head of School, detailed, we have implemented a school-wide system to boost consistency across all classes. This involves rigorous class observations, internal moderation to ensure alignment with the H-FARM curriculum and a focus on academic excellence driven by data and scientific approaches. This ensures that the “H-FARM International School standard” is felt in every classroom, every day.
The results of this rigorous approach are visible in the success of our students. We see it in students like Alex, Emma, James, Ludovica, Sebastian, Matrena and Giacomo and the many others who have secured acceptance letters from top-tier universities, prestigious scholarships, access to elite sports clubs or PhD-level research projects.
In my view, these triumphs are the direct result of the tripartite partnership between students, teachers and families. We each have a vital role in this journey.
Together, we are ensuring that every child who walks through our doors surpasses even their own highest expectations. We are empowering the next generation of change-makers with the character and judgment they deserve to build a more just and joyful world.
With gratitude and determination
