MYP4 Daily Trip to Verona – April 1st

MYP4 Daily Trip to Verona – April 1st 1920 1280 School Office

Dear MYP4 Parents,

Our students will take part in a structured and academically enriching learning experience in Verona, a city of significant cultural and literary heritage, closely associated with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

During the visit, students will engage in a guided theatrical tour through key historical locations in the city. Led by professional actors, selected scenes from Shakespeare’s play will be performed in English, offering students the opportunity to analyse the text within a contextual and performative framework. This approach will support a deeper understanding of character development, central themes such as conflict, identity, and reconciliation, and the use of language as a tool for expression and interpretation.

The experience will continue at Teatro Satiro with a structured workshop focused on drama and language. Under the guidance of theatre professionals, students will explore elements of performance such as voice, movement, and stage presence. Through collaborative activities, they will apply interpretative skills to selected extracts, strengthening both their analytical abilities and their confidence in oral communication.

This learning experience is designed to bridge literary analysis and practical application, allowing students to engage critically with the text while developing key competencies in communication, collaboration, and self-expression. It also aims to foster cultural awareness and a deeper appreciation of theatre as a medium through which literature can be explored and understood.
