Book Week in PYP – April 20-24, 2026

Book Week in PYP – April 20-24, 2026 1920 1080 School Office PYP

From the 20th April, students in the PYP will be celebrating everything Books! There will be many activities planned during the week, including wordsearches, puzzles, story writing, bookmark creation and taking part in book themed games and activities. We will host mystery reader events, and we will be reaching out to parents for Home Language reading as well. We will also be creating book nooks around the campus for students to tuck up with a good book.

The Usborne Book Fair will return on Tuesday, April 21st 2026, with many more books that the students may enjoy, where every book you buy, the school will also receive money towards books for the library. We will also have a dedicated area for parents to buy new books for the school library! Parents are welcome to visit the Book Fair between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. Please note that payment for the books can be made in cash, via PayPal or Satispay (no debit or credit cards).

We will have a door design competition, where each class will think of their favorite book, and work together on recreating it on their classroom door.

Finally, we are asking that our PYP community dress up in their favorite book character after lunch on Friday, April 24th, to take part in a book character parade during our community gathering! If possible, we ask the students to bring a copy of the book that their character is from (remember to put their name in the book just in case). Students are requested to bring their costume with them, and get changed after lunch (Honey Bees and Y1 have a trip in the morning but will be back for lunch time, so they can leave their bag with the costume in class in the morning).

This year we will also have an Extreme Reading Competition! Ever read a book while on the back of a horse? Or while doing cartwheels? Or while swimming in the sea? Now’s your chance! Take a photo of you reading a book in an extreme way, and bring a copy of it in or send it to Mr Anthony. We will put them up on the wall, and declare some winners on the last day of book week! Just make sure you keep yourself, and the book safe!

We hope the students will (re)discover the love of reading during this week, and look forward to sharing our favorite books with them.
