Venice, a year of transformation: from the Quantum Lab to a refurbished boarding 1920 1080 School Office PYP

Our Venice campus enters the new academic year with a significant investment plan. Innovation, safety and quality of school life: three guiding principles running through every intervention, speaking directly to students, teachers, families and residential staff.

A new Quantum Lab is born, housed in the MYP building but designed for all programmes, from PYP to DP. The setup has been designed directly by our teachers, so that equipment and layout truly support the work in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and ESS. Humanoid and quadruped robots, IoT sensors, an AI-computing FabLab, a bespoke makerspace, a Built and test area, cameras, sensors and Arduino kits: students will train robots, build intelligent devices and develop AI models applied to smart cities, home automation and environmental sensing.

The PYP park is enriched with new structures: the Outdoor Storytelling Classroom for shared narrative experiences, the Robinia Agility Trail for balance, coordination and cooperation, and the Climbing Net for perseverance and self-confidence.

The boarding buildings are being fully reorganised: an expanded common room, a laundry area, study areas, a dedicated staff room and a night-staff bedroom on every floor. An intervention that improves comfort, organisation and quality of life for residential students and for those who care for them.

In the Middle and High School buildings we are introducing an advanced air-quality and safety monitoring system inside the restrooms. It continuously monitors air, temperature and humidity, and through ambient noise (without recording any conversations) it can detect unusual sound peaks that may indicate critical situations such as bullying, vandalism or emergencies. Technology and privacy living side by side.

To support the growth of the school, new MYP spaces are also arriving (an office and a fully equipped working space), a new shared study space in the DP foyer, a refurbishment of the MYP canteen with a four-station self-service system and a redesigned salad bar, and a significant update of the school furniture: phone-pocket units in every classroom, new desks and chairs, coat hooks, new gym equipment and new golf carts.

Many small choices, one single direction: a school that grows together with the people who live it.
