Details:
- When: Wednesday, November 18th
- Where: Treviso
- What: meeting with the Mayor and local community visit
- Unit of Inquiry How we organise ourselves: the students will take part in activities focused on understanding local communities and how they provide networks of resources that support our daily lives. Children will investigate the places and services that help Treviso meet people’s needs. Before the trip, they will prepare a checklist of community signs and symbols to look for. During the walk, they will tick the signs they find and notice which places the signs help people locate or use. They will also have the opportunity to meet the Mayor of Treviso, Mr. Mario Conte, who will welcome them in the Sala degli Arazzi at Cà Sugana. During the meeting, he will talk about the city of Treviso and how it has evolved over time to meet the needs of its people, and the students will ask prepared questions about his role and responsibilities. Back at school, children will use their observations to decide which places and symbols to include on their Cubetto community maps.
Logistics:
- Program: We will leave school promptly at 8.30 and return by the end of the school day
- What to wear: school uniform, comfortable walking shoes and a warm/waterproof jacket
- What to bring: a small backpack (no trolley) and a full water bottle
- Snack & lunch: we will provide snack and lunch (students should not bring any food with them)
What to do if:
- My child can’t participate: if it’s either a scheduled absence or your child is sick, please inform us as soon as possible. Please note: the educational visit is effectively part of the didactic programme of the school. For this reason, we expect all students to participate.
Payment and confirmation:
- Daily trips are included in the “2026-27 daily trips” payment so no extra payment is needed for this trip.
