Dogs on Campus – Access Policy

Dogs on Campus – Access Policy 1920 1080 School Office PYP

Dear Families,

In order to ensure student safety and well-being, access with dogs is always prohibited within the following areas:

  • PYP, MYP and DP, both indoors and the adjacent outdoor areas,
  • The students’ collection area within the PYP building, the Welcome Centre and the porter’s lodge (Guardiola) in the following slots: 8:00-9:00 and 15:00-16:45,
  • Boarding buildings and the adjacent outdoor areas,
  • Sports Arena (during school events and activities).

This measure is adopted to reduce risks related to illnesses and allergies, crowded environments, sudden movements and noise, and to prevent situations of discomfort or fear, especially among younger children.

In the other areas of the Campus, dog owners or handlers are fully responsible for their animal’s behavior and must ensure that:

  • The dog must always be kept on a lead (it is the owner’s responsibility to assess the use of a muzzle),
  • The dog must not be left unattended,
  • The dog does not cause disturbance or pose a risk to people, students or other animals,
  • Any waste is immediately removed,
  • All instructions provided by H-FARM Campus staff are followed.

In the event of non-compliant or potentially dangerous behavior, the immediate removal of the animal could be requested.

Exceptions
Only exceptions provided for by applicable law are permitted, such as certified assistance dogs, provided that student safety is always ensured.
This communication applies to the standard school routine. Any ad hoc events or specific school activities involving pets shall be assessed separately and regulated through dedicated provisions.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping the Campus a safe and welcoming place.
