As part of our ongoing commitment to high-quality learning and teaching, students in Years 3, 4, and 5 will complete the ACER ISA (International Schools’ Assessment) in Reading and Mathematics. These online assessments will take place beginning on April 27th depending on the best schedule for our students.
We are excited to be using the ISA as it provides valuable international benchmarking data, helping us to better understand how our students are progressing and to ensure our curriculum remains appropriately challenging. This also aligns with our wider school focus on strengthening literacy across the PYP. As the MYP also uses these assessments, we are able to use this data as a school to track attainment over many years. Please read the Privacy Statement from ISA about the use of your child’s data.
The ISA is designed to give us a broad picture of student learning and is used to inform school improvement. We do not teach to the test; however, students may take part in a short practice session to become familiar with the format. Parents do not need to take any action.
As with the MYP ISA at the beginning of the academic year, individual student results are not shared with parents. The data is used internally to support ongoing development and to ensure our students continue to grow academically.
