Dear New and Returning PYP Families,
This year, we are introducing a new format for our beginning-of-year Class Meetings. After gathering feedback on the way this was organised in previous years, we will welcome all families to campus on Monday August 31st from 13:45, the afternoon before the students’ first day of school.
We believe this will provide a valuable opportunity for new and returning families to come together before the school year begins. Parents and students will be able to meet their class teachers, connect with specialist teachers, welcome new members of our community and learn more about the year ahead.
We hope this will make the start of the school year feel smoother, calmer and more familiar, particularly for students joining H-FARM for the first time or moving into a new year group.
The afternoon will be organised in rotations according to the timetable below. The different meeting times are designed to allow families with children in more than one year group to attend multiple class meetings without having to choose between them.

| 15:00 | During this time, parents have an opportunity to take part in another class meeting if they have more than one child at the school. The Specialist Teacher will also be available in the Outlook for a meet and greet and the Head of PYP, PYP Coordinator and Learning Support leader are available in the Campo. |
The afternoon finishes at approximately 15:30.
During the class meeting, teachers will introduce themselves and share important information about classroom routines, communication, learning expectations and the year ahead. There will also be time to ask general questions and meet other families in your child’s class. These sessions will be repeated once for parents with more than one child. Parents will also be given more information about being a Class Parent Representative during this session.
Il Specialist teachers will share an overview of the year, including any important points for parents to know. There will also be a meet and greet with the Head of Primary, PYP Coordinator, Specialists, and the Learning Support team after the two sessions. Students can get to know their peers and homeroom teachers during this time.
This afternoon will also be a useful opportunity to bring school and classroom supplies, including Crocs, boots and other requested items, and help your child organise their cubby before the first day. We hope this will allow students to arrive on their first morning feeling more confident, prepared and ready to begin learning.
We understand that some families may not be able to attend. The presentation slides will be shared with all parents after the meetings. You will also be able to arrange an individual conversation with your child’s teacher during school hours. Their details will be shared soon.
We are very excited to begin the year in this way and look forward to welcoming our new and returning families on Monday 31 August.
Un caro saluto,
Anthony Hamblin
Head of PYP
