Il first week of school will be an Orientation Week for all MYP students, designed to help them settle into the new school year before formally starting the curriculum.
Il prossimo Tuesday, 1 September, all MYP students will start the day by meeting directly in the Gym for an assembly.
After the assembly, students will proceed to the MYP building to
- Meet their Mentor and go together to their Homeroom.
- Receive their class allocations.
- Be guided by their mentors through the practical aspects of MYP life, including daily routines, classroom expectations, school policies and procedures, as well as any other information they need to navigate their school day confidently.
In the afternoon, students will begin following their regular timetable and meeting their subject teachers. However, teachers will not immediately begin teaching the curriculum. These first lessons will focus on getting to know the students, setting expectations, reviewing the resources they will need, and providing an overview of the Units of Inquiry and Assessment Criteria for each subject. This will give students a clear understanding of what they will be learning and how their work will be assessed throughout the year.
Please also note that the first week will be device-free. Students will therefore not need to bring their devices to school during Orientation Week.

The aim is to give students the time and space to understand how MYP works, reconnect or build new relationships, and feel comfortable with their new routines before regular curriculum teaching begins.
