Focused on empowering DP1 students for Medical Studies applications, the event proved highly insightful for our DP1 students and provided a special opportunity for fostering Q&A. Key takeaways include the importance of pursuing relevant internships, identifying university programs that genuinely resonate with your interests, choosing relevant IB subjects for medicine (Chemistry and Biology), medicine internships in English are most likely to be secured abroad, technology is being embedded into medical practices and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What stood out during the conversation was the need to verify the interest in medicine through an internship. As Leonardo Morana voiced it \u201cWhen you get into the working world, you want to do it because it fits you. You don’t want to sit behind a desk or in a laboratory that you don’t like. Go for something that, as soon as you see it and you go “wow! This is what I want to do.\u201d <\/em>Other topics covered were: HUMAT entry test, Medicine in Italy and the US, Internships, EE, IAs, having backups for the university applications, applying to the Netherlands for biomedical sciences, and taking deficiency tests for missing subjects (eg, Math or Physics), entry requirements, and early application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
