{"id":26075,"date":"2026-08-27T16:35:56","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T16:35:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.schoolnews.h-farm.com\/?p=26075"},"modified":"2026-08-27T16:39:44","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T16:39:44","slug":"first-week-of-school-in-the-myp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.schoolnews.h-farm.com\/it\/first-week-of-school-in-the-myp\/","title":{"rendered":"First Week of School in the MYP\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cari genitori,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il <strong>first week of school will be an Orientation Week for all MYP students<\/strong>, designed to help them settle into the new school year before formally starting the curriculum.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il prossimo <strong>Tuesday, 1 September<\/strong>, all MYP students will start the day by meeting <strong>directly in the Gym for an assembly<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the assembly, students will proceed to the MYP building to&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Meet their <strong>Mentor<\/strong> and go together to their <strong>Homeroom<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Receive their <strong>class allocations<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Be guided by their mentors through the practical aspects of MYP life, including <strong>daily routines, classroom expectations, school policies and procedures<\/strong>, as well as any other information they need to navigate their school day confidently.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the afternoon, students will begin following their <strong>regular timetable and meeting their subject teachers<\/strong>. However, teachers will not immediately begin teaching the curriculum. These first lessons will focus on getting to know the students, setting expectations, <strong>reviewing the resources they will need, and providing an overview of the Units of Inquiry and Assessment Criteria for each subject<\/strong>. This will give students a clear understanding of what they will be learning and how their work will be assessed throughout the year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please also note that <strong>the first week will be device-free<\/strong>. Students will therefore <strong>not need to bring their devices to school during Orientation Week<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We kindly remind all students that they are required to bring a <strong>padlock <\/strong>for their lockers, as well as all <strong>requested school materials<\/strong>, on the <strong>primo giorno di scuola<\/strong>.
