The Weekend Booster is an intensive weekend course (run twice this term for DP2s) designed for dedicated Math AI and AA Standard Level students who already have solid foundations in Maths (4+ in their first report) and want to take a decisive step towards the top grade boundaries.
Spend your weekend making real progress in Maths by working face-to-face with a Valdo Tutor for 12 hours (6h on Saturday + 6h on Sunday) in a small group. Learn how to use IB markschemes to secure points even when the final answer is wrong… and unlock the secrets of your Graphic Display Calculator.

In this booster you will focus on:
- Advanced IB exam techniques and strategies
- Reading markschemes and understanding how to gain method marks
- Decoding command terms to answer in the right register
- GDC secrets: shortcuts and hidden functions that save time
- Intensive practice with Paper 1 & 2, step by step
👨🏼🏫 Tutor: David is a professional IB Mathematics tutor. He is completing his PGCE at Cambridge on a full scholarship, striving to take his teaching to the next level, whilst working as a tutor part-time He graduated in Mathematics from Warwick with first class honours and has recently completed a Masters degree in Abstract Algebra and Number Theory, with first class honours. He has over seven years of tutoring experience in SAT and IB Mathematics. He teaches Mathematics in English, Spanish and Catalan and has helped several international students achieve their academic goals. Prior to attending Warwick, David scored 43/45 in the IB at Pere Boïl High School, in Valencia, with a full scholarship awarded by the Spanish Government. He obtained a 7 in Higher Level Mathematics, Physics and English, as well as an A in the Extended Essay in Mathematics. This score placed him in the best 2% of IB graduates in the world during his graduation year. As a result, he received an Excellence Award by the Spanish Ministry of Education which covered university fees. Besides teaching privately, David has held Number Theory lessons in the prestigious Ross Mathematics Program at the Ohio State University in the USA. This is an intensive university-level learning experience that has been selecting talented students from all over the world for over 60 years.
