Please see below a letter from Ms. Manso:

As the new school year begins, teachers, students and parents embark together in a shared journey to support our students’ development in more ways than one. At H-FARM International School, we don’t only want to provide your children with a strong academic curriculum, but also with a safe and supportive learning environment where they can truly thrive.

To this end, we have introduced two new changes in our daily routine. Every day, during homeroom time in the morning, students hand in their phones to their mentors. At the beginning of every lesson, students ‘park’ their device at the front of the classroom and use it only when the teacher asks them to do so.

With the introduction of these two simple routines we aim to ensure that students are putting their whole focus on what’s happening in lessons, nothing else. On making sure that they are taking in the subjects they study and that they are in a good frame of mind, focused, to make meaningful contributions to class discussions.

As per the development of their relationships with peers and teachers, we can already see a significant improvement. During break and lunch time, we see students having casual chats with one another, smiling more, truly connecting with their peers and teachers. In class, the atmosphere is relaxed and conducive of effective learning, which makes us both proud and incredibly happy.

As we accompany your children in their educational journey, we continue to trust in your collaboration and your constructive feedback. We see it as our responsibility to ensure that we relentlessly adapt our educational approach in the classroom to the needs of our students. We are counting on you and your support to succeed in this exciting endeavour.

Kind regards,

Ms. Manso and the MYP team
