MYP5 Educational Visit to Mestre – M9 Museum

MYP5 Educational Visit to Mestre – M9 Museum 1800 1198 School Office

Dear MYP5 Parents,

At the M9 Museum in Mestre, our students will embark on a powerful journey through the complexity and vitality of the 20th century, a time marked by extraordinary progress, profound contradictions, and transformations that continue to shape the world they live in today.

Through a series of immersive and interactive workshops, students will explore history, philosophy, and social change from multiple perspectives. In “The 20th Century: The Best and the Worst of Times,” they will examine how technological innovation, cultural shifts, and social movements reshaped everyday life, revealing both the promises and the tensions of modernity.
In “Living in War,” students will confront the human dimension of World War II, analyzing its impact on societies, political systems, and individual lives, while reflecting on the consequences of conflict and the value of peace.
Finally, in “We Are the Constitution,” they will engage with the principles of the Italian Constitution through the legacy of Sandro Pertini, exploring themes of democracy, rights, responsibility, and active citizenship, and considering their relevance in contemporary society.

This dynamic and thought-provoking experience encourages students to connect past events, ideas, and values with present-day challenges, fostering critical thinking, civic awareness, and a deeper understanding of their role as informed and responsible global citizens.
