MYP5 Visit to Venissa Restaurant: An Authentic Entrepreneurial Experience 2000 1236 School Office

Dear MYP5 Parents,

As a culminating moment of the work developed over the past weeks, our students are about to take part in a unique and inspiring learning experience in collaboration with one of the most outstanding examples of excellence in our region: the Michelin-starred Venissa Restaurant, located in Burano–Mazzorbo.

Rooted in a deep love for the Venetian lagoon, its heritage, and its spirit of innovation, Venissa tells a powerful story of rebirth and vision. What was once a flooded vineyard estate has been transformed into one of Italy’s most forward-thinking culinary and entrepreneurial projects. Through this experience, students will explore how passion, strategic thinking, sustainability, and respect for the land can shape a successful and internationally recognized business model.

During the visit, students will take part in a guided tour of the estate, discovering the history of Venissa and the values that guide its approach to entrepreneurship and environmental stewardship. The core of the day will be dedicated to student presentations: working in teams, students will present their own experience concepts to a panel of Venissa chefs and professionals. These projects represent the result of weeks of research, planning, and creative development, allowing students to apply management, business, and design-thinking skills in an authentic professional context.

This hands-on experience offers students a valuable opportunity to engage with real-world dynamics, receive professional feedback, and gain confidence in presenting ideas to industry experts. It is a meaningful bridge between academic learning and the realities of the professional world — where innovation meets authenticity and ideas turn into opportunity.
