We’re incredibly proud of our PYP students who took part in the LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) performance exams at the end of the last academic year. Students took part in individual and duo Acting, Verse and Prose, and Divising, and were also part of a group piece based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. These exams happen in English, and students have to learn their pieces by heart, rehearsing many times, before being ready to share with the examiner.
We are proud to announce we had a 100% pass rate, with 60% Distinction – the highest grade possible and nearly 80% Merit or above. Our young performers wowed the examiner with their confidence, creativity, and collaboration, showcasing the power of drama in building communication skills, including in English, self-expression, and joy in learning. Their determination was evident through their dedication to work both at school and at home to do the best they could.
There are still limited places available for the LAMDA Exams Teacher club for Y3-5 in Term 3. You can find more information here. Please note there is a fee to take the exam.
