I wish to extend a thank you to those parents who helped us to reorganise our chapter books during our INSET day this week.
Our English chapter books will begin to come home with new stickers on them, highlighting which genre of writing they belong to:
Adventure, Animals, Classics, Early Readers, Fantasy and Magic, Graphic Novels, Historical Fiction, Humor, Jokes, Plays, Poetry, Realistic Fiction.
We have also begun to add age-appropriate stickers on the books to help them know which books are best for them in regard to age-appropriate content. These are split into Early Chapter books, mostly designed for Y1-3, and Older Chapter Books for Years 4-5. We will be working with the students to ensure they are learning how to use the library more effectively and how they can select the right book for themselves.
Please ensure that your children do not remove these stickers, as they help them identify the genre and box where the book can be found.
Please note that this organisation has only been for English Chapter books at this time; we will soon begin to work on Information books, Picture books, and the Italian books. If you want to come and see some of the great work we are doing, please feel free to pop in and see for yourself.
