PYP2-PYP5 Beep Test

PYP2-PYP5 Beep Test 1920 1080 School Office PYP

During the week of 20–24 October, our Year 2 to Year 5 students will take part in the Beep Test during their PE sessions, just before the October half-term holidays. Each student will have two opportunities (one per session) to achieve their best possible score. If any students are absent during that week, they will have a chance to complete the test after the holidays.

The Beep Test involves running back and forth between two lines in time with a series of beeps. As the test progresses, the time between beeps gets shorter, making it increasingly challenging. The longer students can keep up, the higher their score. This first round will focus mainly on effort and participation, as students get used to how the test works. There won’t be a benchmark to compare results yet — this is a learning experience.

At the end of the school year, we will repeat the test so that students can track their progress and see how much they’ve improved over time. The Beep Test is an important tool for assessing fitness, endurance, and stamina, as well as mental resilience: a key aspect of athletic development.

We’re looking forward to seeing all our students give their best effort! Please remember that this is not a competition, but rather a personal challenge and a chance to become stronger, more confident, and more determined.

Let’s keep having fun and staying active, both in PE lessons and beyond!
