PYP3 residential trip to Archeopark 1920 1080 School Office PYP

Dear PYP3 Parents

We are very pleased to announce that the PYP3 students will be given the opportunity to go on an overnight educational trip to Boario Terme (Brescia) on March 24th to return on March 25th to visit the Archeopark and the UNESCO World Heritage site, La Valle Camonica. This experience will support the learning in the Year 3 Unit of inquiry “Where We Are in Place and Time”. During the trip, our Year 3 students will investigate how evidence of how the past can give us important clues about the way people once lived.

On the first day we will go to Capo di Ponte on Valle Camonica, UNESCO world heritage site. We will visit the Museum di Cemmo di Capo di Ponte with the archaeologist dott. Ausilio Priuli, and then will go to the “National Park of Rock Engravings Naquane”.

On the second day we will explore Archeopark and our students will spend the morning with an experienced guide who will support the students as they engage in a variety of activities to deepen their understanding of the archeological finds, previous settlements, engravings and the evolution of mankind over time.

We will leave school promptly at 8:00am on Tuesday (24th March) and will be back at school at approx 5:00pm on Wednesday (25 March). Please note: due to the departure/arrival time, it will not be possible to use the school bus to arrive/leave to/from school. This residential trip is an integral part of the school curriculum and is considered a regular learning experience. For this reason, we expect all students to take part. However, if your child is unable to participate due to a previously scheduled family commitment, we kindly ask you to inform us as soon as possible. For this reason, we ask all parents to complete this form to confirm their child’s participation (or non-participation) in the trip no later than Thursday, January 29th. Please note that the Y3 teachers will be accompanying the trip. If your child will not be attending, alternative arrangements for their supervision and activities at school will need to be made in advance.

We will confirm the final cost and send instructions for payment after January 30th. We will also send you a packing list letter and more details about logistics closer to the date.

We’re excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our PYP3 students. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your support,
