Boarding Sports Programme: A New Year of Sport and Activities

Boarding Sports Programme: A New Year of Sport and Activities  2000 1500 School Office

Following the trial period, our Boarding sports after School programme is now officially getting underway, giving students the opportunity to choose from 12 different sports and activities throughout the school year.

The programme has been designed to offer something for everyone, from fitness and combat sports to racket sports, action sports and outdoor adventures. The trial period has already given us a clear idea of the activities generating the most enthusiasm, with Boxing, Thai Boxing, CrossFit, Pilates, Padel and Tennis receiving particularly strong interest from our boarders.

Fitness, Strength and Combat Sports

For students looking to develop strength, fitness and confidence, the programme includes CrossFit, Pilates, Self-Defence, Boxing and Thai Boxing.

The combat sports activities are delivered in collaboration with ASD Team Guerrieri, whose team is made up of qualified and CONI-certified instructors with extensive experience in both coaching and competition.

Boxing focuses on cardiovascular fitness, strength, coordination, balance and discipline, while also helping students build confidence and perseverance. Thai Boxing introduces students to traditional Muay Thai techniques, combining physical preparation with technical skills, coordination, agility and mental focus.

Self-Defence takes a practical approach to personal safety, focusing on awareness, confidence and the ability to respond appropriately to different situations. Students work on emotional, physical and situational responses through practical exercises and realistic scenarios.

Meanwhile, Pilates focuses on body awareness, conscious breathing, posture, flexibility and muscular endurance, while also supporting concentration, self-control and overall well-being. CrossFit offers a dynamic approach to physical fitness, allowing students to work on strength, conditioning and overall athletic performance.

Racket Sports

For students who enjoy racket sports, the programme offers both Tennis and Padel, with both activities attracting strong interest during the trial period.

Our Tennis programme is managed by our HOB, Timothy Allen, who is also an ex professional tennis player and a highly qualified coach. His experience and passion for the sport provide our boarders with the opportunity to develop their tennis skills in a supportive and engaging environment, whether they are new to the sport or already have previous experience.

The Padel programme is delivered in partnership with CMB Imoco Center Padel, with training led by qualified coaches including Emanuel Nicolas Roldán, a professional padel player and coach who competes in national tournaments and circuits in Italy.

Action Sports

For students looking for something a little different, the programme includes Parkour, Skateboarding/Longboard and BMX.

Parkour is led by Tommaso Lorenzon, who holds a degree in Educational Sciences and has been working as a parkour and acrobatics instructor since 2013. His sessions introduce students to dynamic movement, jumps, landing techniques and acrobatics in a controlled environment, with a strong focus on coordination, physical strength and spatial awareness.

The Skateboarding and Longboard programme is run in collaboration with ASD Venice Longboard School. Students can explore different disciplines, including surfskate and longboarding, with sessions adapted to both beginners and more experienced riders. The programme develops balance, coordination, confidence and technical skills, while also encouraging teamwork and a willingness to learn.

BMX is led by Elia Benetton, Italian BMX Freestyle Champion, member of the Italian National Team and a qualified CSEN and PMBIA instructor. As President of ASD Rampature, Elia has extensive experience promoting freestyle activities. Students have the opportunity to use the H-FARM Freestyle Park and develop their riding skills while working on balance, technique and confidence.

Outdoor and Adventure Activities

For those who prefer outdoor challenges, the programme also includes Archery, Canyoning and Trekking.

Archery combines focus, precision and self-control. Students progressively develop shooting technique, posture, breathing control, coordination and concentration, with the opportunity to explore different disciplines including Barebow, Olympic and Compound. The programme is led by national-level coaches Alessandra Marin and Mario Marin, both long-standing members of FITARCO with extensive experience in the sport and youth development.

The Canyoning and Trekking programme is led by Christian Cavallin, a certified Canyoning Guide, Environmental Hiking Guide and Sport Climbing Instructor with extensive outdoor training experience. The programme combines indoor preparation at the H-FARM climbing wall with outdoor canyoning excursions and trekking activities, introducing students to rope techniques, navigation, equipment management, safety and outdoor skills.

We are also excited that this week we have gained accreditation as an International approved Centre to run the Duke of Edinburgh programme and we look forward to sharing more news on how to sign up in the coming days.

Looking Ahead

With the trial period now complete, students can begin settling into their chosen activities and making the most of the opportunities available through Boarding.

The variety of the programme means that students can develop physical skills, discover new interests, challenge themselves outside their usual routines and, importantly, enjoy being active together as a community.

We would like to thank all of the coaches, instructors and partners involved in the programme, including ASD Team Guerrieri, ASD Venice Longboard School, CMB Imoco Center Padel and all the individual instructors who bring their expertise and enthusiasm to our Boarding community.

We are looking forward to seeing our students make the most of the programme throughout the year and to continuing to expand their opportunities to learn, challenge themselves and have fun through sport.
