MYP Missed Assessments – Recovery Procedure

MYP Missed Assessments – Recovery Procedure

MYP Missed Assessments – Recovery Procedure  2560 1707 School Office

Dear MYP Families,

This year, we are introducing a Recovery Assessment system to ensure that students who miss a Summative Assessment due to a justified absence have a clear and consistent opportunity to complete it upon their return to school.

This procedure applies only to Summative Assessments missed due to student absence.

Recovery Assessment sessions will take place:

Every Monday

1:15–2:45 p.m.

MYP Room 15

Students who have missed a Summative Assessment due to a justified absence will complete the assessment on the first Monday following their return to school.

If a student returns to school on a Monday, they will attend the Recovery Assessment session that same day.

If Monday is a school holiday, the Recovery Assessment session will take place on the next working day, unless otherwise communicated.

What do students and families need to do?

If the absence is known in advance, families should submit the appropriate absence/leave request through the Family Portal, following the usual school procedure. There is no need for families to make individual arrangements with each subject teacher regarding the missed assessment.

The subject teacher will organise the Recovery Assessment and will inform the student that they are expected to attend the relevant session.

Students are responsible for checking their school email and attending the scheduled Recovery Assessment session.

Please note that this procedure applies when an assessment has been missed because of an appropriately justified absence. Students should continue to make every effort to attend school on scheduled assessment days whenever possible.

Thank you for your support in helping students take responsibility for their assessment commitments.

Kind regards,

Alba Manso

Head of MYP
